Thousands of people from all walks of life are setting up new websites, blogs and e-commerce stores every single day.
Some pay a web designer $500-$10,000+ and others choose to give it ago themselves which cost’s next to nothing.
I’m going to show you that setting up a new website, really isn’t that difficult!
Let’s Get Started!
So before you start thinking about domain names, hosting, color schemes, layout etc… the first thing you need to decide is what type of website do you want to create, and which platform is best to build it on.
Step 1: Choosing Your Website Platform
When I started building websites in 1999, most sites were built using html, php, css, & asp coding. If you didn’t know how to code, you wouldn’t be able to build a website. Learning these skills could take you months or even years to master.
You had to create your website using software programs like Adobe Dreamweaver then upload your files to a server to make changes.
Believe me, It was labour intensive and took a lot of learning!
Luckily in 2017, most people use content management systems (CMS) to manage and build their websites. I highly recommend you do the same!
What is a content management system and how much will it cost?
The best way to describe a content management system (CMS) is a user-friendly website building platform that makes it super easy to create and update websites.
The CMS is on your website so can log in from anywhere to use it. (No need to have expensive software installed on your computer)
Best of all, the most popular and well-known content management systems (CMS website platforms) are free.
